Anthropic’s New AI Model

Je M’Appelle Claude

AI Designed For Business Leaders: Last week saw new developments in the race for best bot, as Anthropic announced the release of a new AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, with a focus on appealing to enterprises and developers. Claude 3.5 Sonnet surpasses the company’s previous systems (Claude 3 Sonnet, Claude 3 Opus) and other leading models (GPT4o, Gemini 1.5 Pro, and Llama-400b), in certain AI benchmarks:

  • Visual Math Reasoning

  • Science Diagrams

  • Visual Question Answering

  • Chart Q&A

  • Document Visual Q&A

  • Graduate Level Reasoning

  • Undergraduate Level Knowledge

  • Coding Tasks

  • Multilingual Math

  • Mixed Evaluations

  • Math Problem-Solving

  • Grade School Math

While AI benchmarks are not the most relevant indicator of a model’s usefulness to consumers/business leaders, it is worth noting that Claude 3.5 Sonnet outperforms leading models without sacrificing speed or efficiency. Beyond massive amounts of imagery and text, the model’s training also involved human feedback, to curb undesirable output and ensure valuable, relevant responses.

While OpenAI still has the biggest name and the biggest bank account in AI platforms (though Amazon did just recently dump $4B into Anthropic), its repeated and entirely inappropriate nonchalance toward ethics, safety, and security may prove problematic when it comes to drawing the enterprise audience.

Anthropic has built its brand around safety and research, and recently made significant discoveries in understanding the hidden layer of AI. Their focus on building measured, secure ecosystems to meet the needs of businesses may prove to be more valuable to users in the long run.

Claude 3.5 Sonnet is available for use, with 3 pricing options (including a free plan) HERE.

Snap AR

Don’t Sleep on Snap

New Updates to Lens Studio Democratizing AR: Snap’s new generative AI system will allow users to create “sophisticated” AR content that is more vivid and immersive than ever before. The update allows developers to create new lenses within a matter of hours, democratizing access to AR technology like never before.

The announcement revealed that Lens Studio, Snap’s developer platform, now allows creators to develop AR experiences for websites and other apps, rather than limiting them to Snapchat. Updates to Lens Studio features include text-prompted 3D image generation and an AI assistant to answer developer questions.

Snap leaders are focused on a seamless blend of digital elements with the physical world, and their efforts in immersive AR won’t stop here. The company plans to eventually create AR lenses that can cover users from head to toe and move with them – a groundbreaking leap forward if they can pull it off.

For business leaders, Snapchat's AI and AR advancements offer new avenues for immersive marketing and customer engagement. The enhanced Lens Studio can streamline the creation of dynamic (and fun!) AR content, enabling businesses to captivate audiences with innovative, interactive experiences. This evolution in Snapchat's platform can help your brand stand out and connect with users in novel ways, and it won’t break the bank!

Generative AI Shopping

It’s The Thought That Counts

Prioritizing User Intent: Gone are the days where packing your website full of keywords successfully boosts your search rankings. Now, search engines focus primarily on user intent – examining the context and semantics behind user queries rather than just matching keywords.

Daydream, a new AI-powered e-commerce search engine, just raised a whopping $50M in seed funding. Though details about the platform are scant, we know that the company is focused on using generative AI to create an ultra-tailored, extra-intuitive user experience. While they are certainly not the first to implement AI in e-commerce or search results, their teasers are intriguing and their narrow vertical protects them from looking like a chihuahua yapping at big dogs like Google and Amazon.

Here are some query sneak peeks Daydream has offered:

  • I love this tote, but I want it without stripes

  • Black leather loafers with a chunky sole under $200

  • Country club outfit ideas

  • Understated cocktail dresses for a petite frame

The startup is already partnered with over 2000 recognizable brands, including Alo Yoga, Net-A-Porter, and Jimmy Choo.

Why it matters for your business:

For business leaders, Daydream's approach represents a significant shift in e-commerce strategy. Personalized AI search can enhance user engagement, improve customer satisfaction, and drive sales. Here’s how you can adapt:

  • Embrace AI-Powered Search: Integrate AI search tools into your website or e-commerce platform to offer personalized and efficient user experiences.

  • Leverage Visual and Natural Language Searches: Implement technologies that allow customers to search using images and natural language, making the shopping process more intuitive and enjoyable.

  • Optimize Product Listings: Ensure your product data is comprehensive and compatible with advanced search algorithms to improve discoverability.

  • Focus on User Experience: Invest in user interface improvements that make navigation and product discovery seamless.

  • Stay Ahead of The Curve: Keep an eye on emerging technologies and consider partnerships with AI innovators like Daydream to stay competitive.
